City of Desire
Hey Everyone,
can you please post a classified ad for the city of your desire?
A small example is above; although yours can be longer or shorter or more detailed.
It would be pretty great to get some of your ideas so that I can continue to work with the themes that we have been discussing in the group. I have been working with the themes of nostalgia and desire... maybe this can help you out.
Thanks and see you on Friday,
Cris

Postcards and Souvenirs - Idea
Hello Everyone,
I explain the idea of my project:
Ítalo Calvino says in his book “Invisibles Cities”, “of a city, not capitalize on its seven or seventy-seven wonders, but the response it gives to our questions”
So I think to write a poetic text that approachs the experience of self-knowledge from the knowledge of a city, or another body (To keep the analogy with persons, that justifies the use of the term sexy to a city) Its aims is to confront the experience of the “Soft cities the “travel” with the “Spetacle cities – the “tourist” (paper given by Daniela) and try to understand the meaning of Postcards and souvinirs in these contexts, not necessarily antagonistic.
I also propose an intervention in the city:
I would like in
When visiting any city, people buy things, to communicate through them to other people (known) their experiences in this city (Postcards) or to say that thought them during the visit (souvenirs)
The objective would be playing with the meaning of these elements and make people think about the exchange and interaction that exists between them and the city: Tourists create a large postcard to the city and give it a souvenir - Tourists would be invited to express their experiences in the city. In exchange would take a copy of the text (a souvenir!)
The photos of this process and the outcome of the "postcard" illustrate the text in the magazine.
It would be nice if someone will join me in this project!
